Danielle "Dani" portrayed by Dani Harmer is the titular character and main protagonist of Dani's House and its spin off show Dani's Castle for the first series. In the second series she only makes brief appearances and by series three she no longer appears. The title of the show switches in the introduction from 'Dani's Castle' to 'Rich Jimmy & Kait's Castle'.
Dani's House
Series 1
In Dani's House: Series 1 Dani is introduced as a 17-year-old actress and singer who regularly has to look after her 10-year-old brother Max, and 6 month old baby brother. Their parents are never shown in the series although their voices can be heard on several occasions. She regularly hangs out with her best friends, Sam and Toby.
Max and his best friend, Ben constantly terrorise Dani and her friends although Dani and Max deep down care for each other.
Series 2
In Dani's House: Series 2 Toby leaves to go to medical school and is replaced with Jack. Jack is introduced in Jack in the Housewhen he comes to DJ at Danis party. It turns out that Dani and Sam knew Jack from school where he used to be a ”total nightmare” due to flushing Sam’s homework and Dani’s lucky troll down the toilet. By the end of the episode Dani and Sam can see that Jack has matured and changed and the three of them become best friends.
Series 4
In Dani's House: Series 4 Dani gets the role of 'Nurse Emily Woodmagnet' in a TV drama series called "McHurties Hospital". Later in this series Sam leaves to go to NASA to become an astronaut, and Dani becomes friends with Rubywho was previously her personal trainer in The Big Grapple. Ruby's younger sister Maisy takes to tormenting Dani, Ruby and Jack along with Max and Ben. However Dani becomes friends with Ben near the end of series 4 when Max is frequently absent. This is shown when the two of them pair up to dance in Bollywood. In Dani's Castle when Ben visits in 21st Century Boy Dani introduces him as being a really good friend.
Series 5
In Series 5, Dani realises she has gone and fallen for her new McHurties co-star Alex. However, things don't go to plan and they end up disliking each other after accidently continuously insulting one another. At the end of Crush and BurnAlex has a change of heart and asks out Dani when she saves him from being squashed by a speaker. The two of them become a couple for the rest of the show.
Max, has also become a mega star and has gone on tour with their parents leaving Dani with the house to herself. Max reappears in The Birthday Trapand after learning that Dani has messed up the dates on her invitations he aims to save her birthday. Dani is shocked that Max has helped her but he explains that it's the least he could do after forgetting her birthday. Dani tells him that the house will always be his home and he remarks that everyone knows that it's always been ”Dani’s House.”
